CUJC 2026 Results

The Inaugural Canadian Universities Jiu-Jitsu Championship

 

The inaugural Canadian Universities Jiu-Jitsu Championship (CUJC) was held on March 14, 2026, at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Organized by the Canadian Universities Jiu-Jitsu Association (CUJA) and sanctioned by the Ontario Jiu-Jitsu Association (OJA), the championship brought together 170 competitors representing 15 universities and colleges from across Canada.

Athletes competed in men’s and women’s Gi and No-Gi divisions, as well as the Co-Ed Quintet, with results contributing toward each institution’s overall championship score.

At the conclusion of the competition, Toronto Metropolitan University finished first overall with 180 points, becoming the inaugural Canadian Universities Jiu-Jitsu Champion.

180 Points

Toronto Metropolitan University captured the inaugural CUJC Championship after finishing first in the overall institutional standings.

​

The University of Toronto finished second with 157 points, while Brock University finished third with 49 points.

The 23-point margin between first and second made the inaugural championship a closely contested race between Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto.

​Institutional points were earned through performances across individual Gi and No-Gi divisions and the Co-Ed Quintet competition.
